Recreation GroundsThe Council manages the areas of open space included in the King George’s Playing Field Charity. This is the land behind Pershore Town Football Club, down to the river and the playing field at Cherry Orchard alongside Meadow Walk. Both of these are available for free recreation for residents of the town. The Council do, however, have to book out the football pitch and a booking form is available here if you are interested. Occasionally the whole field is booked for an event but this is publicised in advance and does not restrict the use of the field by the public for walks. The riverside also has free overnight moorings for boats which brings people into the town and provides a lovely backdrop to the river.
Pershore Town Council also owns part of Avon Meadows, with Wychavon District Council owning the rest. This wetland is managed jointly by the two Councils and some major works are in the process of being undertaken. |
