Sharon Gibbons

Cllr Sharon Gibbons was elected to Council in May 2023. Cllr Gibbons is Vice Chair of the Amenities and Environment Committee and sits on the Cemetery Committee, Staffing Committee and the Planning Committee.

Cllr Gibbons’ Personal Bio:
I am a retired Police Officer, having served in West Mercia Police for 30 years. before retiring in 2010 as a Chief Inspector.  I spent time as the Inspector for Wychavon, based in Pershore, in the early 2000’s.  After retirement I retrained as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist, qualifying from the University of the West of England in Bristol in 2013.  Since then, I have run my own private practice based mainly in Worcester.

My parents moved to Pershore in 1978 and they were very active in the town.  My mother worked at Peter Smith Opticians for many years and both were very involved in the Abbey and Abbey choir.  My Mum was also a key figure in the local WI, and both were involved in the talking newspaper.  My dad also was a key member of Vale Harmony and the Amerie 4 barbershop singers. We were all keen singers in Pershore Choral Society. I have lived in the area since 1990.
